The CSISG report cautioned that price promotions were becoming increasingly inadequate when it came to retaining happy customers. ISES’ analysis also found that how customers perceive value was declining in its impact on overall satisfaction in recent years. SMU Assistant Professor of Marketing (Practice) and ISES Academic Director Marcus Lee added that retailers needed to be cognisant in what type of customers were patronising their stores, and how to design store layouts with these differing customer segments in mind.
