SYNOPSIS

Engineering Design in Real Estate Developments goes hand in hand with the development of Architectural Design to meet authorities’ guidelines, developer objectives and market sentiments.

Expertise of Architects, Builders, Engineering experts and Researchers are vital in creating an optimum design for complex projects.  Interaction between them will facilitate innovation and creativity to intertwine with engineering skills like an art to realise cost and time savings.

This lecture will walk through some of the interesting complex buildings in Singapore, notably, the Marina Bay Sands and Interlace to highlight the importance of teamwork between professionals and development experts in exceptional complex developments.

Mr Teh Hee Seang

T. Y. Lin International Pte Ltd

Mr Teh has a broad experience in design and construction of high-rise buildings, bridges and special structures in Singapore and this Region. He was the Managing Director of T. Y. Lin International Pte Ltd (1989 - 2015) before his current role as an Advisor with the firm.

He had successfully performed sequencing analyses for the construction of Marina Sands Hotel Towers and detailed evaluation of stability and redundancy of cables for The Singapore Flyer at Marina Bay.  His recent projects include the structural review of the 80-storey Iconic  Tower in Cairo, Egypt and evaluation of Track-Structure-Interaction for MRT viaducts in Singapore. 

Mr Teh’s passion in structural modelling and analysis of tall towers and complex structures has earned him the satisfaction as a Professional Engineer and an Accredited Checker in Singapore.
