A safe and secured environment within SMU campus.

SMU is committed to providing a safe and secure campus environment.

The SMU Office of Safety & Security (OSS) conducts safety-related training, reviews safety SOPs and performance standards, and provides advice on safety management matters. The team also manages Campus Security, Workplace Safety & Health, Fire Safety as well as engages relevant internal and external stakeholders to enhance organisational resilience and security. Voices@SMU provides supports, such as information, hotlines and counselling to our students on sexual harassment or assault.

Our Key Services

Emergency Services

The Campus Security provides 24 hour assistance in the event of any emergency. Our security officers are trained to provide emergency assistance to the University’s community as well as the public.

Emergency services include, but not limited to:

  • Smoke or fire
  • Major injury
  • Suspicious article/person/activity
  • Armed intruder
  • Public Nuisance
  • Personal Threat

Lost & Found

The Campus Security manages lost and found items within the campus and these are items will be kept for one month before handed over to the Police.

Training & Education

SMU is currently the only university in Singapore to be accredited as a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) & Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training centre by Singapore Resuscitation & First Aid (SRFAC).

We also organises and conducts the lifesaving training programmes for SMU community, as well as the general public.
