Technology Showcase: Singapore

With the collaboration of SMU and A * STAR, Fujitsu is developing an application that changes the behavior of people by giving an advice generated from AI to alleviate congestion.

For example, after the end of big events, "Recommended actions" are sent to people's smartphones.

The AI analyzes individually the condition of traffic congestion and each people's preference, and advises that "The person can sit down and go home if the person would go for a hamburger shop for about an hour and then get on the bus."

Professor Lau Hoong Chuin of SMU expects that "Should a same advice were given to everyone, congestion will only increase. However, artificial intelligence can propose optimal matching individually for everyone, so that such congestion can be minimized."
