MISTA 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Prof. Lau H.C. was invited as keynote speaker to talk at MISTA 2017 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (5 Dec - 8 Dec 2017). In his talk, he discussed a framework that combines data analytics, machine learning and optimisation to solve real-world complex scheduling problems effectively. He also demonstrated how spatial-temporal patterns can be learnt from both historical and real-time data to generate effective schedules to solve scheduling problems in the area of logistics, manpower scheduling and maritime operations.

UNiCEN research scientist, Dr. Aldy Gunawan, who is also one of conference chairs for the conference jointly conducted a workshop on orienteering problem and delivered a talk related to home health care delivery problem with Prof. Lau.
