Ishikawa Japanese Studies Programme

Dear Students,

Ishikawa Foundation for International Exchange (IFIE) is offering an online Japanese Studies Programme for SMU students from 17 to 27 May 2021 (see attached schedule).

Participants will get a chance to develop their Japanese language skill and interact with a local host family and/or local university students during the two-week programme held over zoom.

 

Detail of this programme

2-week Online Programme (10 hours)

Each week: (1) 2 language classes: 2 hours x 2 times per week and (2) 1 Interaction session with a Japanese host family/University students: 1 hour x 1 time per week.

• Classes are taught by Japanese instructors.

• Each class consists of up to 5 students. (Students in the same class would be of similar Japanese language proficiency or level; Participants can be of beginner level).

• Pre-programme interviews are required to assess participants’ Japanese language proficiency

• Fees are covered by SMU.

SMU students’ participation in this programme can count towards their ‘Global Exposure’ graduation requirement.
