SMU Chairman, Mr Ho Kwon Ping, and Provost & Deputy President (Academic Affairs) Professor S Rajendra elucidate the essence of business and service excellence and share words of wisdom on the five aspects of service design and delivery for attaining excellence, namely Customers, Employees, Leadership, Profitability and Culture. They also give their take on ways to propagate a culture of service excellence in Singapore.

Ceremony 2011

The inaugural edition of this significant event held on 28 Nov 2011 was organised by the Institute of Service Excellence at SMU (ISES) to recognise the pinnacle of achievement for service in Singapore. The Medallion is the latest and most prestigious award of GEMS Up, a national campaign to boost service standards driven by five agencies – ISES, Spring Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). Guest-of-Honour Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam conferred Medallions on the most outstanding Organisation (Changi Airport Group) and Individual (Mr Edwin Teo) recipients.
